THE NEXT CHAPTER: ROSIE VS. THE DONALD - WHO GOT TRUMPED?

Okkaaaay.....we've had OJ and his insane book idea, Mel Gibson's drunken rage, Michael Richard's racy mouth, and the latest chapter of angry and childish behavior belongs to Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell. O'Donnell criticized Trump's lifestyle and says he's a "snake oil salesman". And Trump says, "This woman is totally out of control," Trump told the Daily News. "I'm worth billions of dollars, and I have to listen to this fat slob?" Trump was also upset about O'Donnell saying he went bankrupt*, even threatened to sue her, even just for the fun of it and for taking money "out of her fat-ass pockets." Trump hopes "The View" loses ratings. My, my, my, aren't they both acting incredibly childish? Does anyone really enjoy the negative energy they're putting out? I think they both need a big time out and a chance to reflect upon the mirror they present to one another.

Mature adults know that the loudest, nastiest mouth slinging insults and threats doesn't win anything; on the contrary, it automatically loses. Sure, we're all entitled to our opinions, but just because someone has a lot of money or is on a television show (or anywhere, really) doesn't give them carte blanche to publicly berate others or make grand assumptions. One case in point, O'Donnell using the "gay card" against Kelly Ripa, when my feeling was that Ripa just didn't want germs on her mouth from Clay's hand. Instead of assuming and accusing Ripa of being a homophobe, O'Donnell could simply have asked Ripa what she meant by her words. Didn't O'Donnell's reaction speak volumes about her own issues? Yup.

What I really zoomed in on in this new fiasco was Trump's statement about his money. That says it all, doesn't it? Seems the only thing that matters to him is money, and maybe the only way he values himself is by how much money he has. Are we supposed to be frightened or impressed by that statement? I think that's very sad. Where's his heart and soul? Oh yeah, they don't have a price tag. Does he seem to think that money takes him out of league of being a human being? That just because he has money (big deal) he doesn't have to look at somebody he finds unappealing? Well, Trump, you're supposed to be a grown up. Instead of reacting and wishing ill on somebody for saying something negative about you, don't you know that you can turn the other way or change the channel? You don't have to look at, listen to, or respond to O'Donnell, you could laugh it off as something not worth responding to, and it has nothing to do with how much money you have.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think SOME people who have a lot of press and think they're so almighty powerful need therapy and anger management courses! And, of course, to grow up! So who got trumped? The public, because we get to see more of who these people really are. They do themselves in, thanks to their big egos. Not at all admirable. When I see either of these people anywhere, I will look the other way, or change the channel, or leave.

* Read up on Donald Trump online at Wikipedia to see the facts about his bankruptcy. O'Donnell wasn't entirely incorrect.
