"To stem fanaticism, we must first fight indifference to evil...We fight indifference through education; we diminish it through compassion." --- Elie Wiesel
We are currently facing many mirrors of ourselves and what needs healing in our world. We view the consequences of extremism in beliefs, religions, and HOW these religions are being practiced. Polarities intensified, the deep, dark issues we have refused to look at and own, then heal. Old systems, institutions, are screaming out that they NO LONGER WORK. From Enron to Catholic priests who abuse children; to the fact that gays and lesbians were only accepted as true Christians or Catholics if they entered monasteries or convents, and then to be abused and refused natural urges.
Clashes continue between Muslims and Hindus in India. India and Pakistan at each other's throats with nuclear threats. In order to defend themselves, the Muslims say that an attack on one means all Muslims everywhere are required to fight against the other. Are you getting the picture, yet? Any nuclear attack means everyone loses, everyone will die. There are NO winners. We see the results of extreme Islam, that has no tolerance for liberty, free expression, independence, nor cannot it accept other religions or viewpoints, and certainly doesn't respect women and children in its own culture. Any nuclear attack means game over, everyone loses, everyone will die. There will be NO winners. Commiting suicide goes against Islam, and yet it is endorsed and encouraged by some Muslim religious and political leaders. Not every Muslim or Arab is a terrorist, but EVERY person who attacked us on Sept. 11 was a Muslim and an Arab. And yet, where are the Arab leaders who strongly condemn terrorism? Why do the U.S. and world leaders allow terrorism to continue? Why doesn't the U.S. have strong sanctions against Saudi Arabia and all the Arab states along with the E.U. for not doing a damn thing to stop terrorist activities, but instead shelter, reward, and promote them? Do you see Jews violently demonstrating on streets, in schools, burning other in effigy, bombing mosques or churches around the world, blowing up themselves and sending their young children out to blow themselves up, or attacking people (who aren't terrorists)? Nope.
The U.N. condones suicide killing as a legitimate means for Palestinians to fight Israelis. Palestinian children are being abused solely for the Palestinian cause - one that could have been radically different had Arafat accepted peace and had a Palestinian state by now - and the U.N. doesn't condemn that. What makes sense anymore? Palestinians avoid self-responsibility, preferring to blame Israel for their pathetic condition.
Did you know that Arafat was offered the job as Prime Minister of Jordan by King Hussein, so the 80% Palestinian population of Jordan would finally stop killing people and have more of a voice? He could have helped his people a long time ago, been part of a legitimate government. But Arafat turned it down because he had his sights set on taking over Israel. He continues to use and abuse the Palestinian people (by telling them it is Israel who makes their lives miserable instead of telling them the truth) in order to destroy Israel. And the world is so naive to think that if the Palestinians manage to weasel their own state together they will stop terrorism. Arafat's goal is a temporary peace, if any, as he consistently reminds his people to remember the al-Hudaybiyah, so they can mimic it: If this is Armageddon, we sure know who the evil ones are. Instead of building bridges of peace and unity through diversity, most Muslims and Arabs are building barricades, increasing their own segregation, and making more enemies.
Mass exoduses of transitions have been increasing...people "dying" in large groups due to "accidents," be it from transportation, weather events, other earth changes, or terrorism - explosions.
Just when we finally "get it" that cetaceans are highly intelligent and talented, the Navy is starting to realize how their sonar tests are causing ear and brain hemorrhages, and disorientation in whales. We have contemporary Alaskan Natives who demand to have the right to hunt and murder whales as their subsistence. What a pitiful excuse to exploit and honor their ancient heritage. There is no need now to kill these beautiful, highly evolved beings (who love us and help us) in order to make a living. Is this what it means when many of you preach about being one with nature? Do you honestly believe the whales today are happily donating themselves for this?
Governments are still refusing to support and incorporate alternative energy, and remove the dependency upon oil. If we could switch from reliance on oil, and the blackmail that plays with all of us because of oil, we would respect life and the Earth, not to mention be immensely cheaper and safer for the environment.
The Red Cross and United Nations have become political tools, favoring and pitying the terrorist Palestinians and extremist Muslims.
We see increased anti-Seminitism - attacks on innocent rabbis and other civilians going about their daily lives. Scapegoatism runs rampant - why do people need a scapegoat, and why is that scapegoat usually the Jewish people? What are people being taught? Why are there so many misconceptions, myths, fears, and why are they not being corrected and alleviated? Who seeks to benefit from perpetuating myths? Why is a tiny Jewish state such a threat to many in the world? May I remind you, who might be Christian or Muslim - your religions are based on Judaism, and being anti-Jewish means you reject yourselves and your God, and Jesus (who was a Jew), and his teachings. If you don't support Judaism and Israel, you are hypocrites - you can't be what you claim to be.
For a couple of thousand years people have used God as an excuse to control and murder those not of the same faith. We are now reliving what took place during the Holocaust, Inquisition, Crusades, ancient Egypt, and Rome. Gog and Magog are here. What have we, as a world-wide civilization, learned? Anything? Can we see how we revel in being separate instead of united? Can we objectively see how religion AS PRACTICED by many in the world is so corrupt and against what God is?
This war in the Middle East involves different levels of consciousness and differences in perceptions. We are facing a WAR OF CONSCIOUSNESS, and it can become very nasty. Some are ready for living in peace and it appears that many others aren't. However, everyone's soul is responsible for their share in creating either war or peace, love or hatred of humanity, creating safety or insecurity, sharing abundance or creating poverty. Religion and spirituality don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. One can be religious without being spiritual, and one can be spiritual without being religious. Which are you? Can you combine religion with spirituality, and politics, or must they be separate, and how does that manifest? Do you feel religion still has importance? How can you use your courage for the highest good of all?
Russia developed enough weapons (biological and chemical) to kill everyone on this planet ten times over. Does anyone realize that if one person realizes such a virus as ebola or plague, they are writing their own death warrant, too?
America isn't exempt from its own problems. We have the echo of revenge and violence in gangs, at Columbine, in people who murder their spouses and children because they're jealous and possessive, or can't accept change. This is also terrorism and murder. In a way, the famous quote attibuted to Jesus about those without sin casting the first stone can be well applied to the world's situations today. So where do we go from here? The following is little recap of all of the metaphysical articles on this site.
******* Some questions for self-examination, because folks, these are reflections of all of us. It's time to (putting it bluntly) shit or get off the pot. Our planet is in serious trouble and it's up to us to save ourselves:
How do you avoid responsibility? How do you need to blame others for what you create? What do you want to create - what kind of world do YOU want to be living in? Do you want to see a future on planet Earth? If you can envision that future, what does it look like? Are you peaceful inside of yourself? What are YOU doing in terms of making this a better world and being a living example of the beauty, freedom, liberty, compassion, and love of our Source - whatever name you use for God? What is the legacy you will leave behind when you pass on, and are you at peace inside of yourselves with that legacy? How are you the change you want to see? What do you teach your children? Are we mature enough to come together and live in peace and respect with our differences, or because we celebrate our differences? How do you manage your own anger? Do you believe in revenge and vindication? If so, how do you go about problem-solving, or gaining revenge and vindication? Do you resort to violence, or can you do it by talking with whomever you feel wronged you? Do you communicate respectfully and honestly? What is your personal stand on forgiveness? What is the level of joy in your life?My request to you is that you look into your heart of hearts and seek truth for yourselves and remember the essence of your soul, and that of the religious or spiritual path you follow. Use your higher selves, your breath, your body, nature, and ask for its guidance and balance. Make sure education is committed to truth and compassion with peace. At their heart, all religions have some basic good, and it is up to us to bridge understanding between them towards an authentic, committed peace, a peace that is not just lip service.
