A NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE FOR 2005

We are moving into the new year and, as always, the new year also brings a new vibration. As we move into the year 2005 we will begin to dive even deeper into examination, analysis, understanding, contemplation, and meaning about our personal and collective lives. We will make more of a connection between ourselves and life around us in a global and universal way. We will continue to be more aware of who we are, what we want, what is going on with our planet, and ask ourselves if the outer world is mirroring to us exactly what we are creating inside of ourselves. Is the mirror a picture of the authentic is, of our hopes and dreams? Or do we have some things to re-examine and create with new meaning? Take this idea into our body, too: can we see that your body is the creation of how we think and feel about ourselves? Have we been feeling more, or less, healthier? What is our connection with life around us, including animals, birds, fish, the land and water?

Since I wrote the above paragraph last week (when I stopped because I felt there would be more of a message to come), our planet underwent the massive quakes and tsumanis resulting in great devastation and loss of life showing us that we MUST make a connection between life around us in a global and universal way. Our past is being washed clean away. Talk about a new vibration! My heart goes out to everyone who had a loss or was directly involved in experiencing this earth-changing event. The entire planet felt it and the earth is altered because of it. The tsunami reached around the world, literally. The rotation and spin speed of our earth has sped up, our axis has a bit of a wobble, too. Even though there have been large quakes, hurricanes, volcanos, and loss of life every year due to these events, this past week's event was magnified in every way. People from all over the globe were represented in these countries and many lost their lives. Following that, we had floods and mudslides in the U.S. and Europe due to heavy rains, causing us to reevaluate our waterways, reservoirs and drainage systems. These events also brought people from all over the planet closer together to help out.

I have participated in several discussions about this event. What about karma, you ask? Well, karma is self-judgment and self-created to achieve a balance. What you put out you will get back, but it can return in any variety of ways, and at any time. It's not as simple as an eye for an eye, like people pollute and the earth scolds or kills people for that. Some say that it is man's pollution and lack of respect for the earth that caused this and the earth is punishing us for that. I don't agree with that idea. The earth isn't suffering or punishing people. We are punishing ourselves with our disrespect for the earth: our water and air is no longer clean, our food is being poisoned or disappearing due to many human-created reasons, species are dying off quicker than you realize, and so on.

Have people asked for a radical change and does change have to be so terrifying and devastating so that the earth responded? Do you believe that people wanted to die or lose family and friends and their homes like this? The earth and the Source/God are not evil entities bent on destroying us. And people did not make the quakes and tsumanis. The earth and the cosmos did that. The earth is doing its thing as it always has, and always will, regardless of people's presence upon it.

What about the role of consciousness? We have a consciousnesss and the earth has its own consciousness, and it is up to us to become more attuned to understanding the earth's consciousness, and to be more in alignment with it. Many people already know this and are doing what they can to bring things back into a healthier balance so there is not so much pollution, disregard for all animal life on the earth. But, when I say that we can become more in alignment with the earth, I am saying that we need to pay attention to the signs the earth is giving us and live accordingly. The animals sense the disasters coming - animals smelled and heard and sensed in many ways what was coming and fled to safety, some taking people with them. How many people paid attention to what the animals and birds were doing? We need to respect ourselves enough to listen to the earth and never forget that it will always have changes (life is change).

We also can remember that the world isn't only right where we are. Familiarize yourself with the planet. Haven't you been forced to learn new names locales, languages, because of 9/11 and these recent disasters? They're calling our attention to the world beyond our front door, and not to ignore others - we are on this watery planet together and it's high time we all start rowing together.

We need to be more intuitive, flexible, and smart enough to work with those changes. We cannot turn our backs on the water - ever. We cannot build schools within fifty feet of an ocean. We cannot build structures that are unsafe to large quakes. We need to have better systems in place to cope with earth changes. Emergency, water, food, shelter, medicine, forewarning systems need to be set up so they can go into action immediately. We need to have many exit routes, and not overcrowd our cities so that changes do not have to be so traumatic. This would be living intelligently upon the earth.

The year of 2005 has already begun with a huge impact from the events of 2004. Use what you have learned this past year wisely. Although we are spirits in bodies and here by our own free will, we share this planet with the earth and with everyone else upon it. We can be our best friends or worst enemies. Life is too precious to spend it on anger, fear, and hatred. Let's come out of our cocoons of old even more and burst into colorful life, experiencing our lives much like colorful butterflies; seeing the beauty around us, being the light we carry from the Source, giving thanks for every moment, and remembering the interconnectivity of all life and living smartly, with being part of the NEW Consciousness. Happy New Year to you and yours.
